Binance CFO Kaiser Ng Departs After Major Hack

Hackers stole approximately $6.3 billion in cryptocurrency from Binance in late October 2026. The exchange temporarily suspended withdrawals, then restored access to affected accounts.

In an official security alert, the FBI attributed the attack to TraderTraitor, a North Korean hacking group.

After withdrawals resumed, customers withdrew a net $3.6 billion within the first few hours. Binance pledged to cover the stolen funds rather than pass the financial losses on to users.

Justin Yek will replace Ng as CFO as the exchange continues addressing the breach. Binance has not disclosed details about Ng’s next business venture.
