Google Cloud Partners With Accenture to Expand Enterprise AI Deployment

Google Cloud and Accenture are launching a joint business unit to help companies deploy Google’s AI tools and services, as technology firms compete to solve one of the biggest challenges in enterprise AI: turning models into practical business systems.

The new Accenture Gemini Enterprise Business Group will use forward-deployed engineers, specialists who work directly with customers to build and implement AI solutions. The initiative reflects a broader industry push by AI companies and cloud providers to provide hands-on support alongside their models.

Accenture and Google Cloud said the new group will train up to 1,000 Accenture engineers to help enterprises build custom applications using the Gemini Enterprise platform.

The Race to Deploy Enterprise AI

AI companies are increasingly investing in deployment services as businesses struggle to integrate AI into daily operations. Companies including OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft and Amazon have developed similar approaches built around engineering teams that work directly with customers.

Demand is rising as cloud providers continue spending heavily on AI infrastructure, including computing capacity, data centres, and advanced chips. However, many companies are still working to prove measurable returns from their AI investments.

Google Cloud Expands AI Partnerships

Google Cloud has been expanding its enterprise AI strategy through partnerships with major companies. Data from Ramp’s AI Index showed Google represented a smaller share of AI spending among its tracked customers compared with some competing AI providers. However, Google argues those figures do not fully capture large enterprise agreements.

Google has secured major cloud relationships with companies including Oracle, Meta and Anthropic as demand for AI infrastructure grows.

The company has also expanded cloud relationships with enterprise software providers. Google Cloud’s partnership with ServiceNow is part of its broader effort to support AI adoption across business operations.

Forward-Deployed Engineers Become a New AI Business Model

The Google Cloud and Accenture partnership follows a broader shift toward forward-deployed engineering programs, where technical teams work directly inside organisations to customise AI systems for specific workflows.

Google Cloud previously committed $750 million to expand partner programs focused on agentic AI development. The company also launched a partnership with CVC Capital Partners to deploy AI transformation capabilities across portfolio companies.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the Accenture partnership is part of Google’s broader effort to accelerate enterprise AI deployment.

Accenture Expands AI Engineering Programs

Accenture is also building similar programs with other technology companies. The consulting firm has launched forward-deployed engineering initiatives with Microsoft, ServiceNow and SAP as businesses seek help implementing AI systems.

The growing focus on deployment services shows that companies are increasingly looking beyond access to AI models and toward practical systems that can be integrated into existing operations.
