Town AI assistant raises $108M at $1B valuation

San Francisco-based Town has secured $108 million in Series B funding, reaching a $1 billion valuation just four months after its public launch. The investment will support its Townie AI assistants, which coordinate workplace tasks and share approved information across teams.

The Town AI assistant platform has secured $108 million in Series B funding, reaching a $1 billion valuation. The San Francisco startup became a unicorn just four months after its public launch.

Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures co-led the round, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Serena Ventures and First Round Capital. Founded by former Plaid CTO Jean-Denis Greze, Town has raised at least $160 million, including a $55 million Series A announced in June.

Townies Bring Shared Workflows to Business Teams

Town provides employees with personalized digital agents called Townies. They connect to email, calendars and other business systems to organize information, manage tasks and support daily operations.

Townies can communicate across departments, exchange approved information and coordinate activities. They can also interact with customers and external business partners.

Alongside the funding, Town introduced shared workflows that automatically distribute updated business information across employees’ Townies. The feature removes the need for each worker to make changes individually.

The company said it reached millions of dollars in annual recurring revenue within weeks of its public launch, reflecting early commercial traction.

Competition in workplace automation is intensifying. TechAmerica.ai recently covered Andro’s collaborative messaging platform, which connects employees with autonomous agents. Meanwhile, OpenAI’s Dots handles ongoing tasks across connected services.

Town’s next challenge is expanding adoption while maintaining reliable task execution and secure information sharing. Its ability to coordinate work across teams could help distinguish it in an increasingly crowded enterprise software market.
