Waymo Las Vegas airport rides are now available to select customers at Harry Reid International Airport. In its October 21 announcement, the company confirmed dedicated autonomous vehicle pickup and drop-off zones at Terminals 1 and 3. Both zones are located on the terminals’ Ground Zero Level.
The launch marks Waymo’s sixth major airport connection. Its robotaxis also serve Phoenix Sky Harbor, Nashville International, San Antonio International, San Francisco International and San José International airports. Waymo plans to expand access gradually from existing Las Vegas riders to all customers.
Waymo expands its Las Vegas airport service
Waymo opened its Las Vegas robotaxi service to the public in September. Its operating area spans approximately 24 square miles, including destinations popular with visitors. Airport travelers can book trips within that area, with further regional expansion planned.
The new service adds another driverless option at an airport already served by Amazon-owned Zoox. Nevada regulators also granted Tesla and Uber permits in August that could support thousands of robotaxis across the city. Those permits do not guarantee that every authorized vehicle will be deployed.
For Waymo, connecting the airport to its existing service area adds a practical transportation option for travelers. The next milestone is opening airport access beyond its initial group of riders.
