SiMa.ai, a startup developing chips and software for running AI directly on physical devices, has raised $150 million in Series C funding at a $1.45 billion valuation.

The round was co-led by Fidelity Management & Research Company and Amplify, with participation from Alter Venture Partners, Dell Technologies Capital and StepStone Group.

Founded in 2018 by Krishna Rangasayee, previously chief operating officer at chipmaker Groq, SiMa.ai is building energy-efficient hardware that lets robots, drones, cameras, and other devices process AI workloads without relying on constant communication with the cloud.

SiMa.ai Targets the Physical AI Market

The company is positioning its chips around low-latency, on-device AI processing, which can reduce the need to send data back and forth to cloud infrastructure. SiMa.ai is also aiming to compete on cost and energy efficiency as demand grows for AI hardware used in physical systems.

Potential applications include robotics, drones, cameras and humanoid robots, where local processing can be important for systems that need to respond quickly.

The new funding brings SiMa.ai’s total capital raised to more than $500 million.

The company was previously valued at $960 million after raising an $85 million Series B in July 2025, according to PitchBook.
