Amazon Replaces Grubhub With Uber Eats for Prime Food Delivery

Amazon has selected Uber Eats as its new U.S. restaurant delivery partner, ending its Grubhub agreement. Prime members can order through Amazon without an Uber account and get delivery fees waived on eligible orders of $25 or more.

Amazon Prime Uber Eats delivery is now available to U.S. members after Amazon selected Uber Eats as its restaurant delivery partner, replacing Grubhub. The agreement allows customers to order meals through Amazon’s website and shopping app without creating a separate Uber account.

The partnership, announced November 5, 2026, provides $0 delivery fees on eligible restaurant orders of $25 or more. Amazon’s existing commercial agreement with Grubhub ended that day, marking a shift in its Prime food delivery strategy.

Amazon Prime Uber Eats Delivery Offers New Member Benefits

Prime members can access Uber Eats through Amazon.com or the Amazon Shopping app. Customers can browse participating restaurants, place orders and pay using their existing Amazon credentials.

To introduce the service, Amazon and Uber are offering $20 off each of the first two qualifying orders of $25 or more. The promotion is available for the first 14 days after launch.

The service covers hundreds of thousands of restaurants across nearly 10,000 U.S. cities and towns. Amazon estimates that eligible members could save more than $175 annually through delivery benefits and promotions. Actual savings depend on ordering habits and eligibility.

Amazon Ends Its Grubhub Partnership

Amazon’s partnership with Grubhub began in July 2022, when Prime members received a complimentary one-year Grubhub+ subscription. The company introduced the benefit through its 2022 Prime membership offers.

In May 2024, Amazon expanded the arrangement into an ongoing Grubhub+ benefit. Customers could also order directly through Amazon’s weAmazon’sd shopping app.

Under the new agreement, Prime members can no longer place Grubhub orders through Amazon. However, members who previously activated Grubhub+ can retain their existing benefits through December 31, 2027.

The earlier partnership also included a potential equity stake in Grubhub. Just Eat Takeaway. com’s report confirmed that Amazon held warrants linked to the delivery company. Amazon elected to cash out its outstanding exercisable warrants in December 2024, before Grubhub’s founder.

Uber and Amazon Expand Their Existing Relationship

The restaurant delivery agreement builds on cooperation between Amazon and Uber in cloud computing, autonomous vehicles and artificial intelligence.

Amazon’s AlAmazon’sistant already supports food ordering through Uber Eats and Grubhub. The integration lets users browse restaurants, customize meals and complete orders through natural conversation.

Amazon has also worked with Uber on its Zoox autonomous vehicle operations and cloud services. The latest arrangement adds Prime membership benefits to that relationship.

For Amazon, the agreement introduces another service intended to increase the value of Prime membership. Uber Eats gains access to customers ordering through Amazon’s esAmazon’sd shopping platform.

The change takes effect immediately for eligible U.S. Prime members. Existing Grubhub+ subscribers retain their previously activated benefits until the stated expiration date, while Uber Eats handle new restaurant orders through Amazon.
