Clucky Alarm App Uses Rooster Sounds and Missions to Stop Snoozing
Clucky is a new alarm app that uses rooster sounds, challenges, and tracking features to help users wake up without snoozing.
A new alarm app called Clucky is taking a different approach to waking people up by combining traditional alarms with challenges designed to prevent users from simply turning off the alert and going back to sleep.
Clucky offers users the option of waking up to a crowing rooster sound, along with more conventional choices such as gentle chimes, bird sounds, and standard digital alarms. The app also includes an Extra Loud Mode that increases the volume when the alarm starts.
The app joins a growing group of wake-up tools, including Alarmy and Awake, that use tasks and challenges to make it harder for users to dismiss alarms without fully waking up.
Wake-Up Missions Add Challenges
Clucky requires users to complete a mission before they can turn off an alarm. Available challenges include solving math problems, remembering and tapping tile patterns, typing phrases, shaking the phone, walking, completing push-ups, controlling a virtual ball, and using an AI camera challenge.
The Clucky app also tracks wake-up activity, including how long alarms ring before users complete a mission, the number of completed challenges, and the total number of wake-ups.
The app provides a weekly “Rooster Report” that evaluates users’ wake-up performance and shows progress over time.
Social Features and Subscription
Clucky also includes private “Nest” and “Flock” groups, allowing friends and family members to create shared alarm groups and encourage each other to maintain wake-up routines.
Adrian Angelo Abelarde, a former software engineer at Fanatics, founded the app. Clucky is currently available on the App Store with a Pro subscription priced at $39.99 per year.
