Fambot Launches AI Chief of Staff to Help Families Manage Daily Tasks
Fambot launches an AI family assistant designed to help parents manage schedules, school updates, activities, emails, and daily logistics.
Fambot is introducing an AI assistant designed to help families manage the growing volume of information in daily life, including children’s activities, school updates, newsletters, and household scheduling.
The startup describes its product as an “AI chief of staff” for parents, aiming to help families organise responsibilities that often require tracking multiple apps, emails, messaging groups and calendars. The company was founded by former Instagram engineer Greg Karlin, who serves as CTO, and CEO David Reich, a former UnitedMasters president and former Uber product leader.
Reich said the idea came from his own experience managing family responsibilities while trying to stay present with his children. He described spending a significant amount of time sorting through messages and updates instead of focusing on family time after work.
The founders began developing Fambot about a year and a half ago and later brought in third co-founder Jason Morrow, who previously worked at Google and LinkedIn. The team focused on creating an AI system that could proactively help families instead of only responding when users ask questions.
How Fambot works as a family assistant
Families using Fambot can connect their email accounts, calendars and selected WhatsApp groups. The service then creates daily checklists, highlights upcoming events and provides reminders about important family tasks.
The company said its technology uses a combination of AI models while ensuring that user data is not used to train those models. Fambot also allows users to interact through traditional messaging, but the company is building the product around web and mobile app experiences rather than relying only on text conversations.
This approach distinguishes Fambot from other AI agents that primarily operate via messaging. The company believes families will need richer software interfaces as AI assistants become more involved in managing real-world tasks.
Fambot targets everyday family coordination
The startup plans to expand integrations with additional services used by families, including school communication platforms, sports organisations and activity groups. The goal is to create a central place where parents can manage information related to their children and household responsibilities.
Before launch, Fambot tested its product with more than 1,000 families. The company said feedback showed interest among different types of households, including larger families, single-parent households, families with one child and households where parents have different work arrangements.
Fambot has raised $3.5 million in pre-seed funding from investors including NextView Ventures, Baukunst, Correlation Ventures, Karman Ventures and Founders Network.
The service is currently available for free during beta testing on iOS, Android and the web. The company expects to introduce paid pricing in the future, with a potential subscription cost similar to a streaming service, although the final pricing has not been confirmed.
