Alexa Photo Frame and Echo Time Lead Amazon’s Five New Devices

Amazon has introduced five Alexa-powered devices, including the new Alexa Photo Frame and Echo Time smart clock. The lineup also features an upgraded Echo Dot, an Echo Studio with a built-in camera and a redesigned 16-inch Echo Show.

Amazon has introduced five new Alexa-powered devices, led by the Alexa Photo Frame and Echo Time smart clock. The new Alexa lineup also includes an upgraded Echo Dot, Echo Studio with Home Camera and Echo Show 16.

The devices expand Alexa+ into digital photography, sleep monitoring and home security. Amazon is also adding faster processors and new smart home capabilities to its existing Echo products.

Alexa Photo Frame Brings AI to Digital Pictures

The Alexa Photo Frame features a 10-inch touchscreen with a semi-matte, anti-glare finish. Its display resembles a traditional framed photograph rather than a conventional tablet screen.

The frame connects to Amazon Photos, which offers Prime members unlimited photo storage. Alexa+ automatically selects pictures based on lighting, facial expressions and seasonal relevance. It can also exclude screenshots and receipts.

Users can attach voice notes to pictures and automatically sync new images. The Alexa Photo Frame starts at $199.99 in Black. Birch and Walnut versions cost $229.

Echo Time Introduces Smart Sleep Features

Amazon’s Echo Time is a $199.99 smart alarm clock designed for bedrooms. It features customizable clock faces, Alexa+ integration and optional sleep sensing.

Its smart alarm can detect lighter sleep phases and adjust wake-up timing. Users can choose a 10- to 60-minute window around their scheduled alarm. The clock also gradually brightens its display to simulate sunrise.

The approach resembles sunrise alarm devices such as the Hatch Restore 3. Amazon also offers an Echo Time Kids edition starting at $209.99.

Echo Dot and Echo Studio Gain New Capabilities

Amazon has also upgraded its Echo speakers with additional smart home features. The new Echo Dot includes a built-in hub that supports compatible lights, locks, and thermostats.

It also features an eero Wi-Fi extender that adds up to 1,000 square feet of coverage to compatible networks. Amazon’s AZ3 processor improves on-device AI processing and Alexa+ responsiveness. The Echo Dot costs $99.99.

The Echo Studio with Home Camera adds visual intelligence to Amazon’s premium smart speaker. Users can check on their homes remotely through the Alexa app.

Its camera also lets Alexa+ recognize objects and answer visual questions. For example, users can show Alexa a board game box and ask about its rules. The device costs $249.99.

Echo Show 16 Adds a Larger Display and Fire TV

The new Echo Show 16 features a 16-inch display with 10% more viewing area than its predecessor. Amazon says its redesigned frame is nearly 40% thinner.

The smart display includes Fire TV, household organization tools and smart home controls. It can also display family photographs, calendars and connected camera feeds.

Echo Show 16 is available for preorder starting at $499.99. The new devices extend Amazon’s Alexa+ strategy across more everyday household activities, from displaying photos to managing connected homes.
