Microsoft 365 Outage Continues as Outlook and Other Services Recover
Microsoft 365 services recovered after a multi-day outage that affected Outlook email, authentication, and other business tools, including Teams and SharePoint.
Microsoft is continuing efforts to restore full reliability across Microsoft 365 after a multi-day outage disrupted access to Outlook email and other cloud services for some users.
The disruption began with problems affecting Exchange Online, leading to email delays, delivery failures, authentication issues and other service interruptions. Microsoft said recovery efforts have made progress, but the company has not yet declared the incident fully resolved.
In its latest update shared through Microsoft 365 Status, the company said mitigation efforts were continuing, and that service availability indicators remained positive as it moved into extended monitoring.

While Outlook received the most attention from users, Microsoft’s Microsoft 365 service status page showed that several other products were also affected, including SharePoint, Copilot, Teams, Purview, Defender XDR, the Microsoft 365 Admin Centre, and Universal Print.
Microsoft attributed the disruption to an issue involving a core authentication configuration used by multiple Microsoft 365 services. The company said the problem prevented authentication components from deploying as expected across part of its infrastructure.
The company’s investigation focused on recent changes that may have contributed to the issue. Microsoft then tested and deployed mitigation measures designed to restore service availability and improve user access.

Microsoft said Outlook users would experience gradual recovery as the fixes rolled out. The company reported that email flow was improving, although search functionality remained degraded for some time during the recovery process.
Later updates indicated improvements in search performance, with Microsoft continuing to monitor service health and system telemetry to confirm a complete recovery.
The outage affected several Microsoft 365 tools used by businesses and organisations, extending beyond email disruptions. The company has continued sharing updates as it works toward restoring normal operations across its cloud services.
In a later Microsoft 365 Status update, Microsoft said telemetry signals remained positive and service availability was improving. Still, the company was keeping the incident under observation before confirming a full resolution.
