Meta is pausing plans to sell its Ray-Ban Display smart glasses outside the United States, citing “unprecedented demand and limited supply.” The company confirmed on Tuesday that it will delay its previously announced international rollout.

Meta had initially planned to launch the Ray-Ban Display glasses in France, Italy, Canada, and the United Kingdom in early 2026. However, the company said demand since the product’s debut has exceeded expectations.

“Since launching last fall, we’ve seen an overwhelming amount of interest, and as a result, product waitlists now extend well into 2026,” Meta said in a statement. “Because of this unprecedented demand and limited inventory, we’ve decided to pause our planned international expansion.”

Meta said it will continue prioritising U.S. orders while it reassesses its strategy for making the glasses available internationally.

The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses were unveiled in September and are controlled using a wrist-worn device called the Meta Neural Band. The Neural Band detects subtle hand and finger gestures, allowing users to interact with the glasses without physical buttons or touch controls.

At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Meta showcased several new features coming to both the glasses and the Neural Band. One addition is a teleprompter feature, designed to help users deliver prepared remarks using a portable, hands-free display.

Meta also demonstrated an input method that lets users write messages by tracing their finger on any surface while wearing the Neural Band. Those movements are then translated into digital text.

In addition, Meta announced an expansion of its pedestrian navigation features, which are now rolling out to Denver, Las Vegas, Portland, and Salt Lake City.

The pause in international expansion underscores the strong early demand for Meta’s latest smart glasses, as the company balances supply constraints with growing interest in wearable augmented computing devices.
