OnlyFans owner Leonid Radvinsky passes away
Leonid Radvinsky, owner of OnlyFans, has passed away, marking a major moment for the platform and the creator economy worldwide.
Leonid Radvinsky, the billionaire owner of the adult content platform OnlyFans, has died at the age of 43 following a battle with cancer. The company confirmed the news on Monday.
OnlyFans said it was “deeply saddened” by Radvinsky’s passing, according to a company spokesperson, and noted that his family has requested privacy during this time. Reuters first reported the development.
Born in Odesa, Ukraine, Radvinsky relocated to Chicago as a child and entered the online business space at a young age. As a teenager, he began operating adult streaming platforms and went on to launch MyFreeCams in 2004, which became one of the early popular sites in the industry.
In 2018, Radvinsky acquired a 75% stake in Fenix International Limited, the parent company of OnlyFans, and became a director and majority shareholder. Beyond OnlyFans, he was also active in the investment space, backing technology ventures through his venture capital firm Leo, which he founded in 2009.
OnlyFans itself was established in 2016 by Tim Stokely and saw rapid growth during the COVID-19 pandemic. The platform allowed creators to earn directly from subscribers, driving widespread adoption, particularly among adult content creators seeking a more stable, direct income stream. Over time, the company has paid out more than $25 billion to creators on its platform.
Radvinsky’s death comes just months after reports emerged that OnlyFans had been in discussions to sell a 60% stake in the business. This move would have valued the company at approximately $5.5 billion.
