Spotify’s New Feature Lets Users Transfer Playlists From Other Streaming Services
Spotify now lets users transfer playlists from Apple Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, and more via built-in TuneMyMusic integration in the mobile app.
Spotify is introducing a new feature that makes it far easier for people to switch from other music platforms. On Thursday, the company announced a built-in integration with TuneMyMusic, a popular tool that transfers playlists from other streaming services directly into a user's Spotify library.
The feature, which is rolling out now to all Spotify users, appears in the "Your Library" section of the mobile app. After scrolling to the bottom of the page, users will see a new "Import your music" option. Tapping it launches the TuneMyMusic workflow, allowing users to connect their accounts and choose which service they want to transfer their playlists from.

Once connected, playlists from the selected service are copied into the user's Spotify library. Importantly, the original playlists are not deleted — only duplicated inside Spotify. At launch, TuneMyMusic supports transfers from Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, YouTube Music, Deezer, Pandora, SoundCloud, and several others.
The addition strengthens Spotify's position in the streaming wars while also aligning with growing expectations around data portability.

Apple Music already offers a native playlist transfer option in iOS and iPadOS settings, as well as in the Android version of Apple Music. YouTube Music Premium also lets users import playlists from platforms including Spotify.
For users considering switching to Spotify, having a playlist-transfer tool built directly into the app could make the decision much easier. It's also a convenient bonus, given that TuneMyMusic's standalone website allows only 500 tracks to be transferred for free; unlimited transfers require a paid subscription.
Spotify hasn't disclosed the details of its partnership with TuneMyMusic. Still, the integration appears to benefit both sides: Spotify gains a smoother onboarding experience for potential new users, while TuneMyMusic gets a major platform partner.
