Apple Launches a Standalone Siri App to Strengthen Its AI Assistant Ecosystem

During WWDC 2026 on Monday, Apple introduced a new AI-powered version of Siri, marking what the company describes as the most significant and far-reaching evolution of the virtual assistant in its history.

Alongside the debut of the upgraded Siri AI system, Apple also announced a dedicated Siri application. The standalone app is intended to act as a central hub for users’ previous interactions with the assistant, storing archived conversations in one place. Similar to AI chatbot platforms such as ChatGPT and Claude, the app allows users to browse through past chats and revisit earlier sessions whenever needed.

When opening a previous conversation, users are presented with a summary of the discussion, making it unnecessary to scroll through an entire transcript to recall what was previously discussed. The application also serves as the primary place to start new conversations with Siri.

The updated Siri experience now features a multifunctional interface similar to those of other modern AI chatbot platforms. Users can type messages, upload documents and images, and access a voice interaction mode that enables direct spoken conversations with the assistant.

Apple designed the Siri app to provide a consistent experience across its ecosystem, including iPhone, Mac, and iPad devices. According to the company, all Siri conversations are synchronised privately through iCloud while continuing to follow Apple’s longstanding privacy and security standards.

The introduction of a dedicated Siri app is intended to provide users with a more structured and convenient way to engage with the assistant as its capabilities continue to expand across Apple’s software platforms.

As Apple invests further in artificial intelligence features, the standalone app represents another step toward making Siri a more capable, accessible, and central part of the company’s broader ecosystem.
