GTA V Cheat Platform Breach Exposes Data of Nearly 64,000 Users
A major data breach at GTA V cheat provider Atlas Menu has exposed user emails, usernames, hashed passwords, IP addresses, and support records, affecting nearly 64,000 accounts.
Atlas Menu, a cheat platform for the popular online game Grand Theft Auto V, has reportedly been hacked, according to breach-tracking website Have I Been Pwned.
The breach exposed email addresses, usernames, hashed passwords, IP addresses, and support ticket information. According to Have I Been Pwned, nearly 64,000 user accounts were affected.
The incident is particularly notable because Atlas Menu advertised itself as offering strong privacy and security protections. Before its website went offline, the service claimed to provide “secure authentication and enhanced privacy through our advanced encryption techniques.”
The hacker who claimed responsibility for the breach allegedly published the stolen data on GitHub. Information accompanying the leak suggests the attack may have been motivated by a dispute involving an alleged scammer.
Atlas Menu’s operators could not be reached for comment.
The platform offered a range of tools designed to give players an advantage in GTA V, including invisibility, enhanced jumping, and the ability to fly across the map.
The breach may expose users who signed up to gain unfair advantages in the game. Gaming cheats have evolved into a multimillion-dollar industry, with players often paying for tools that enhance performance or offer competitive advantages.
Atlas Menu is not the first cheat provider to experience a security incident. Similar services have been breached in the past, including a well-known Counter-Strike: Global Offensive cheat platform that was reportedly hacked several years ago.
The incident highlights the risks associated with sharing personal information with unofficial gaming services operating outside traditional gaming ecosystems.
