Berry Street and Healthify Merge to Expand AI-Powered GLP-1 Care
Berry Street and Healthify are merging to combine AI nutrition tools, insurance-covered clinical care and GLP-1 weight-management services in the U.S.
U.S. nutrition startup Berry Street is merging with India-based Healthify, combining Berry Street’s clinical network and insurance infrastructure with Healthify’s AI-powered nutrition tools as demand for GLP-1-based weight management continues to grow.
Financial terms were not disclosed. Berry Street founder Noah Kotlove and Healthify founder Tushar Vashisht will serve as co-CEOs of the combined company. The business will operate under the Berry Street name in the U.S. and retain the Healthify brand in India and other markets.
Merger targets growing GLP-1 market
The companies are positioning the combined business around metabolic health, including nutrition support and insurance-covered GLP-1 care. J.P. Morgan Global Research forecasts that about 30 million Americans could be using GLP-1 treatments by 2030, up sharply from current levels.
Healthify offers AI-powered and human nutrition and fitness coaching through its app. The company says it has served more than 45 million users and has raised more than $150 million in funding. It expanded further into the U.S. last year and has also introduced GLP-1-supported programs in India.
Berry Street brings a U.S. network of more than 2,000 clinicians, including registered dietitians, physicians and nurse practitioners. It also provides AI-supported nutrition coaching, meal tracking and insurance-covered metabolic care. The startup raised $50 million last year from investors including Northzone, Sofina and FJ Labs.
Vashisht said the combination gives Healthify the clinical and insurance infrastructure needed to scale its technology in the U.S. At the same time, Berry Street gains access to Healthify’s AI capabilities and experience delivering nutrition support at scale.
The merger gives the companies a single platform spanning automated nutrition guidance, human clinical care, and GLP-1 programs as weight-management medications become a larger part of the U.S. healthcare market.
