Corridor Raises $25 Million Seed Round to Build AI Health Benefits Brokerage for Small Businesses
Corridor raises $25 million to build an AI-powered health benefits brokerage helping small businesses manage employee healthcare needs.
Healthcare startup Corridor has raised a $25 million seed round to build an AI-powered health benefits brokerage designed for small and medium-sized businesses. The company helps employers manage healthcare benefits through a mix of human advisors and AI tools.
Corridor says traditional health benefits brokerages often pay less attention to smaller businesses because these accounts can generate lower commissions while requiring similar amounts of time and service. The startup believes AI can help reduce administrative workloads and make it easier to support smaller employers.
AI Agents Support Healthcare Administration
On Corridor’s platform, customers work with human advisors while AI agents handle background tasks. The company says these tools can assist with administrative work such as checking whether a doctor is part of a customer’s insurance network, scheduling care, and providing updated health insurance details to healthcare providers.
Corridor was founded by Jackson Wagner, a former product lead at Scale AI, after his own experience with healthcare challenges following a running accident. Wagner said difficulties in managing his care influenced his decision to focus on improving access to health plans.
Before launching Corridor, Wagner left Scale AI, completed a master’s degree in computer science and electrical engineering at UC Berkeley, and later worked at Build Robotics. He also collaborated with former Scale AI colleague Eric Qian on Capernaum AI, a startup focused on clinical AI tools for musculoskeletal care and chronic pain.
Funding and Expansion Plans
The company was later launched with Wagner, Qian, Nikhil Aggarwal and Jason Dong after discussions with investment firm Cold Start identified a broader opportunity in healthcare benefits.
Corridor’s $25 million seed round was led by Bain Capital Ventures, with participation from BoxGroup and executives from OpenAI, Scale AI and Ramp.
The startup is preparing for the fourth quarter, a key period when many small businesses select their health plans. Corridor says its long-term goal is to build a trusted healthcare benefits platform that helps employers and employees navigate health insurance with technology-assisted support.
