Riverside Expands Beyond Podcasting With AI-Powered Newsletter Publishing
Riverside has introduced AI-powered newsletter publishing, allowing creators to transform podcasts and videos into email newsletters directly from its platform, simplifying content creation and audience engagement.
Podcast and video recording platform Riverside is introducing a new feature that enables creators to connect with their audiences through newsletters, expanding the company’s publishing capabilities beyond audio and video content.
Rather than competing directly with established newsletter platforms such as Mailchimp, Substack, Beehiiv, or Ghost, Riverside is focusing on its existing creator ecosystem. Since many of its users already produce podcasts and videos, the company is providing AI-powered tools that can transform existing recordings into newsletter-ready content and distribute them directly from within the Riverside platform. Users can also manually write and send newsletters without relying on the AI conversion feature.
“Substack and Beehiiv start you at a blank page. But our creators and business customers are already producing rich, information-dense spoken content on Riverside. For most people, speaking is easier and more natural than writing from scratch, and the ideas are already there, in the conversation. So instead of asking them to start over in a separate tool, we help them turn a recording they’ve already made into newsletter-ready content with far less effort,” said Riverside co-founder and CEO Nadav Keyson.
Alongside the newsletter feature, Riverside is upgrading its recording platform to support multi-camera configurations. The update additionally allows users to invite remote guests into recording sessions, expanding production flexibility for creators and businesses alike.
The latest release also introduces several new AI-powered editing capabilities. Once a recording is complete, users can immediately generate an AI-created first draft of the edited video. The assistant can also produce hooks, captions, and content tailored for a variety of social media platforms. In addition, Riverside has introduced an AI-powered video enhancement tool trained specifically for conversational video podcasts, which the company says can improve recording quality by enhancing lighting, depth of field, and sharpness.
Riverside, which has secured more than $60 million in funding, joins a growing number of creator-focused platforms expanding into adjacent publishing formats to diversify both their products and revenue streams. Earlier this year, Substack introduced its own built-in recording studio that competes directly with Riverside’s recording tools. Beehiiv also entered the podcasting market in April, while social platform Mastodon announced in June that users would soon be able to publish newsletters directly from its network.
