Automattic’s Mesh Android App Launches With Nexus AI Tools
Automattic’s Mesh Android app launches with personal CRM tools, Nexus AI, Beeper integration, widgets, multiwindow support and real-time cross-device sync.
Automattic is expanding Mesh, its personal relationship management platform, to Android, bringing the contact-organising service to phones, tablets and foldable devices running Google’s mobile operating system.
Formerly known as Clay, Mesh is designed to help users organise personal and professional relationships in one place. The app combines contact information with notes, reminders and search tools intended to make it easier to remember conversations and decide when to reconnect with people.
Mesh Android app adds platform-specific features
The Android version includes support for split-screen and pop-up views, allowing users to keep Mesh open while working in messaging or email apps. It also supports keyboard shortcuts on tablets and foldables, in-app search, and home-screen widgets that adapt to Android’s Material You colour system.
Mesh also offers real-time synchronisation across devices, making changes to contacts and notes available across supported platforms. The Android release is available through Google Play, where the app is listed under Automattic.
Automattic acquired Clay in June 2025 as part of a broader push into relationship management and messaging. At the time, the WordPress.com parent said the technology could eventually become more closely connected with its messaging products, including Beeper.
Mesh and Beeper begin to connect
Mesh already has limited interoperability with Beeper. Users can draft messages through Beeper from Mesh and follow links from Beeper to profiles stored in the relationship manager.
Beeper isAutomattic’ss multi-network messaging service, bringing conversations from services including WhatsApp, Signal, Instagram, Messenger, X, LinkedIn, Slack, Discord and Google Messages into a single app. Its Android listing currently advertises support for those networks and several others.
Automattic has previously said Clay would join Beeper and Gravatar in its Other Bets division, with the broader goal of exploring how relationship-management data can work across messaging channels. The company has not announced a combined Mesh and Beeper subscription.
Nexus AI searches across personal networks
Mesh is also developing AI-assisted tools through Nexus AI, which is in early access. The feature is designed to let users search their network conversationally, including finding contacts connected to a particular company, city or area of expertise.
The company is also experimenting with voice-based interactions and improvements to business card scanning. Those tools extend Mesh beyond a traditional address book by using information stored with contacts to help users navigate larger personal and professional networks.
Mesh says personal information stored in the service is not used for advertising or ad targeting. Instead, the product follows a subscription model, with a free tier covering up to 1,000 contacts and paid options for users who need additional capacity and features.
Business use has become an important part of theproduct’ss customer base. According to the company, about 70% of Mesh customers use the service for some form of business purpose. However, its founders continue to position the same relationship-management tools for individual users as well.
The Android launch gives Mesh access to a broader range of devices as Automattic continues developing its contact management and messaging products under the same corporate umbrella.
