Verified against OpenAI’s Aug. 13 announcement, its June SEC filing notice, and reporting confirming Dresser’s departure and the recent executive turnover. OpenAI says Rajic will lead its global revenue organisation, Dresser will leave after a transition period, and the company now reaches more than 1 billion weekly active users and more than 2 million businesses.

OpenAI has named Dali Rajic as its new chief revenue officer, replacing Denise Dresser less than a year after she took the job, as the artificial intelligence company continues to reshape its senior leadership.

Rajic will lead OpenAI’s global revenue organisation as the company puts greater emphasis on converting rapid adoption of its AI products into a larger, more disciplined enterprise business. Dresser, who joined OpenAI in December 2025, will leave after a transition period to pursue other opportunities, according to the company.

Rajic most recently served as president and chief operating officer of cybersecurity company Wiz, which Google acquired. Before Wiz, he held senior operating and revenue positions at Zscaler and AppDynamics.

OpenAI focuses on scaling its enterprise business

OpenAI said its products now reach more than 1 billion weekly active users and more than 2 million businesses, double the number of business customers it had a year ago. That scale has made commercial execution increasingly important as the company expands the use of its technology within large organisations.

OpenAI President and co-founder Greg Brockman said Dresser helped build the company’s revenue team and strengthen major customer relationships during a formative period. He said Rajic will be responsible for turning lessons from that growth into more repeatable execution as OpenAI expands.

The appointment comes amid a wider series of leadership changes. Brad Lightcap, a longtime OpenAI executive who previously served as chief operating officer before moving to special projects, announced his departure in August to start something new.

Fidji Simo also stepped down from her role as CEO of applications in July and moved to a part-time advisory position. Those departures have added to a broader reshuffling of OpenAI’s executive ranks during 2026.

Leadership changes come as OpenAI considers public markets

The revenue transition also comes as OpenAI keeps the possibility of becoming a public company open. In June, OpenAI confirmed that it had confidentially submitted a draft S-1 registration statement to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company has not committed to an IPO timetable, saying there are advantages to remaining private and that the filing gives it flexibility to move sooner if going public becomes the preferred option.

For Rajic, the immediate task will be to oversee a revenue organisation serving a rapidly expanding mix of consumers and businesses. At the same time, OpenAI works to translate widespread AI adoption into sustainable commercial growth.
