YouTube Music Gets New AI Features for Music and Podcast Discovery

YouTube Music is introducing new AI-powered features designed to help listeners discover songs, explore artists, and find podcasts through more natural conversations.

The updates include Ask Music, a conversational search tool for music and podcasts, and Your Podcast Lineup, an AI-generated audio guide that recommends shows based on a listener’s interests. YouTube announced the new features as part of its Made On YouTube updates.

Ask Music Creates Personalised Listening Experiences

Ask Music lets users describe what they want to hear in everyday language instead of searching for specific songs or artists. The feature can create custom listening queues, explain an artist’s background, and provide details about music history or song creation.

The tool works across YouTube Music’s catalogue of more than 300 million songs, including official recordings, remixes, live performances, covers, and DJ sets. Users can ask questions conversationally, similar to how they would ask another person for recommendations.

AI Helps Users Discover Podcasts

YouTube Music is also introducing Your Podcast Lineup, a personalised AI-generated audio guide designed to help listeners discover new podcast shows.

The feature appears on the podcast section of the YouTube Music app and provides weekly spoken previews of recommended shows. It explains why a podcast may interest a listener before moving into suggested episodes.

YouTube Expands AI Across Its Audio Services

The new features are part of YouTube’s wider effort to integrate AI into its products. The company has previously tested AI-powered music hosts that provide stories, fan trivia, and commentary connected to what users are listening to.

YouTube introduced the updates during its Made On YouTube event. The company said Ask Music and Your Podcast Lineup will roll out soon to YouTube Music and YouTube Premium subscribers worldwide.
