TikTok announced on Wednesday the launch of a new standalone application in the United States designed specifically for major cultural and sporting events, including upcoming global moments such as the FIFA World Cup. The app, called TikTok Pro Events, is designed to provide fans with a dedicated destination to engage with communities, discover trending content, and follow creators covering major live events.

The new platform enables users to interact with fellow fans, explore popular videos about major events, and access curated content feeds featuring creators and influencers who are participating in those conversations.

As part of the experience, users aged 18 and older can earn rewards called “Stars” by completing various fan-focused activities in the application. These activities include engaging with trending hashtags, visiting the FIFA World Cup content hub, and sharing event-related content across the platform.

The Stars earned through participation can be exchanged for a range of exclusive benefits. Available rewards include official FIFA World Cup merchandise through a dedicated in-app redemption marketplace, TikTok Shop discount coupons, and opportunities to direct charitable donations funded by TikTok through its partnership with Feeding America.

TikTok is building a dedicated app focused on global cultural moments, rather than mixing all activity on its main platform, to capture more user engagement and give advertisers and creators access to audiences with very specific interests.

The move also creates new opportunities to generate revenue through sponsorship agreements, advertising campaigns, brand partnerships, and creator-driven marketing initiatives.

TikTok noted that users can still access FIFA World Cup 2026 content directly within the main TikTok application by searching for “FIFA World Cup.” These dedicated content hubs are powered by TikTok GamePlan, a suite of tools designed to help sports organisations, leagues, broadcasters, and teams increase visibility and strengthen fan engagement.

Within the hub, users can discover tournament-related content, connect with creators, view broadcaster highlights, and stay updated on developments surrounding the competition.

TikTok Pro Events is now available for download in the United States through both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

The launch reflects TikTok’s broader strategy of expanding beyond its origins as a social media and entertainment platform. Over time, the company has steadily introduced new services and experiences that extend its role within users’ digital lives, with cultural and event-focused engagement becoming the latest area of emphasis.

Most recently, TikTok introduced TikTok GO, a feature that allows users to discover and book hotels, attractions, and travel experiences directly through the platform. Rather than directing users to external websites after they encounter a destination recommendation or travel-related video, TikTok is increasingly positioning itself as a complete ecosystem where discovery, engagement, and transactions occur in one place.

The introduction of TikTok GO marked a significant step in transforming the platform’s recommendation engine into a commerce-focused experience capable of generating bookings and revenue from user engagement. TikTok Pro Events aims to deepen audience participation around major cultural moments and open additional business opportunities tied to fan communities.

With the launch of TikTok Pro Events, the company continues its efforts to diversify its product portfolio, strengthen user engagement beyond traditional short-form video consumption, and establish new pathways for creators, advertisers, and partners to connect with audiences at some of the world’s largest cultural and sporting events.
