AMC Previews New Silicon Valley–Themed Series The Audacity at CES 2026

AMC previewed its upcoming original television series The Audacity during CES 2026, offering attendees an early look at the show through exclusive clips.

Created by television writer and producer Jonathan Glatzer, whose previous work includes Succession, Better Call Saul, and Bloodline, the series explores how Silicon Valley residents are shaping modern life through technology. The show examines themes tied to artificial intelligence, data collection, social media, and their broader societal impact.

Speaking at the Variety Entertainment Summit at CES, Dan McDermott, chief content officer at AMC Networks and president of AMC Studios, described Silicon Valley as a defining force of the current era.

“They’re literally laying the cement on the freeway that we’re all driving down,” McDermott said, referring to the influence of emerging technologies. He added that the people building these systems are among the most essential subjects for close examination today.

Actor Billy Magnussen, who stars in the series, said Silicon Valley represents a pivotal moment in modern history. He described it as an ideal setting for a dark comedy because of its role in shaping contemporary society.

The Audacity also stars Sarah Goldberg, Zach Galifianakis, Simon Helberg, and Rob Corddry. The show is set in a fictionalised version of Silicon Valley, avoiding references to real companies or appearances by well-known tech leaders, while still drawing on familiar industry dynamics.

Helberg portrays a socially isolated technology prodigy developing an AI-based therapy app for teenagers, even as he struggles to connect with his teenage daughter. The actor said loneliness sits at the core of many characters, who attempt to form connections through technology — often with unintended consequences.

Two scenes from the series were shown during the event, though recording was not permitted. One clip featured Magnussen’s character enthusiastically pitching Galifianakis’ character during a restaurant encounter that ends abruptly and violently. Another scene showed Helberg’s character failing to emotionally connect with his daughter, instead using her annoyed expression as data to train his AI system.

The Audacity is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, April 12, airing on AMC and AMC+.
