Discovering new apps on Apple’s App Store is set to become more personalized, moving beyond traditional top charts and editor-curated selections. Apple has announced a range of new discovery features designed to recommend apps based on individual user interests and behaviour, while also giving developers additional opportunities to reach potential customers.

During its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple introduced Personalized Collections, a new App Store feature that delivers recommendations tailored to each user. The feature will also include “App Notes,” short explanations that describe why a particular app has been suggested.

Beginning this week, users will see these personalized recommendations across the Apps, Games, and Search tabs. Apple said the recommendations will continue to evolve, adapting to a user’s downloads, preferences, and app usage patterns.

Initially, the feature will launch in English for users in the United States, with support for additional languages and regions expected to roll out gradually.

The update is part of a broader collection of tools to help developers improve app discovery, attract new users, and encourage existing customers to re-engage with their apps and games.

The changes also reflect how much the App Store ecosystem has matured. In the past, being featured by Apple’s editorial team or earning an “App of the Week” spotlight could significantly boost downloads. Today, growing competition for user attention means developers increasingly need new ways to stand out and maintain engagement.

Among the new features, developers will be able to add richer images and videos to product page headers and search results, allowing them to highlight seasonal content, new features, or special promotions. Apple is also introducing a new Asset Library that enables developers to organize and manage marketing materials used across in-app events, promotional campaigns, and special offers.

Developers will also gain new opportunities to showcase limited-time offers and engage users through the Apple Games app.

In addition, Apple is introducing support for App Bundles for subscription-based businesses. The feature will allow developers to partner with one another and offer collections of subscription apps at discounted prices compared with purchasing each subscription separately.

The company is also expanding subscription options for organizations and larger groups. Under the new system, developers will be able to create multi-user in-app purchase experiences, making it easier to sell subscription services to teams, businesses, and other larger customer groups.

With these additions, Apple is looking to make app discovery more relevant for users while giving developers new tools to promote their products in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
