ChatGPT Voice Mode Now Integrated Directly Into Chat Interface
ChatGPT’s Voice Mode is now fully integrated into the chat interface, allowing users to talk, see responses, and view images in real time without switching screens.
OpenAI announced Tuesday that ChatGPT’s Voice Mode is now fully integrated into the main chat interface, making it easier and more natural to use. Previously, interacting with ChatGPT via voice required switching to a separate interface, where users could only listen to responses and could not see visuals or previous messages.
You can now use ChatGPT Voice right inside chat—no separate mode needed.
You can talk, watch answers appear, review earlier messages, and see visuals like images or maps in real time.

The update allows users to talk to ChatGPT and view responses in real time, including images, maps, or other visual content shared during the conversation. Users can also review earlier messages without leaving the voice conversation. The change aims to make interactions more seamless, as users can now move fluidly between speech and text within the same chat.
While the new voice mode is the default for all web and mobile users, OpenAI has kept the option to revert to the old separate interface. This can be done under “Voice Mode” in Settings, where users can enable “Separate Mode” if they prefer the previous experience.
The integration simplifies voice interactions and provides a more immersive, convenient way to engage with ChatGPT, bridging the gap between spoken and written AI conversations.
