How to Use the New ChatGPT App Integrations, Including DoorDash, Spotify, Uber, and Others

OpenAI offers app integrations in ChatGPT that let you connect your accounts directly to the assistant and ask it to perform tasks for you. For example, with a Spotify integration, you can tell ChatGPT to create personalised playlists that appear directly in your Spotify app.

To get started, ensure you're logged into ChatGPT. Then, type the name of the app you want to use at the start of your prompt, and ChatGPT will guide you through signing in and connecting your account.

If you'd like to set everything up at once, go to the Settings menu, then click on Apps and Connectors. You can browse the available apps, select the ones you want, and be taken to each app's sign-in page.

However, note that by connecting your account, you're sharing your app data with ChatGPT. Make sure to review the permissions before linking your accounts. For instance, when you connect your Spotify account, ChatGPT will have access to your playlists, listening history, and other personal information. Sharing this data helps personalise the experience, but if you have privacy concerns, consider whether you're comfortable with this level of access before connecting. You can disconnect any app at any time via the Settings menu.

Booking.com
The integration with this online travel giant is designed to help travellers, especially first-time visitors, seek accommodation recommendations. After linking your Booking.com account, you can ask ChatGPT to find hotels based on your preferred city, travel dates, budget, and other preferences. ChatGPT can refine the search to include additional specifications, such as "with breakfast included." Once you've found the perfect hotel, you can proceed to complete your reservation directly on Booking.com.

Canva

Canva's integration with ChatGPT is an excellent tool for graphic designers or anyone needing to generate visual content quickly. Whether it's for a social media post, a presentation slide, or a poster, ChatGPT can help you design it. After linking your Canva account, you can request designs with specific features, such as fonts, colour schemes, and file formats. At the same time, AI-generated designs may require tweaks, but they are a strong point for your project.

Coursera

The Coursera integration helps you discover the best online courses tailored to your skill level. You can ask ChatGPT to find an "intermediate-level course on Python" or to compare course options based on rating, duration, and cost. ChatGPT can also provide a breakdown of each course's content before you enrol.

DoorDash

The DoorDash integration streamlines your meal planning and grocery shopping. You can ask ChatGPT for a meal plan and instantly add all the ingredients to your DoorDash cart for checkout. Currently, this feature is available to U.S. users and includes participating grocery retailers like Kroger, Safeway, and Wegmans.

With the Expedia integration, ChatGPT can help you find hotel options and flights without leaving the chat. Whether you're planning a quick getaway or a more extended trip, you can filter results by travel dates, budget, and preferences, such as "Only show 4-star hotels." Once you've selected a flight or hotel, you can proceed to Expedia to finalise the booking.

If you need help creating diagrams or flowcharts, Figma in ChatGPT can help turn your ideas into visual representations. You can also upload files and ask ChatGPT to generate detailed project roadmaps or timelines for your team.

Spotify

The Spotify integration lets you quickly create playlists and explore new music recommendations. ChatGPT can generate playlists based on your mood, favourite artists, or specific genres. You can also add or remove tracks from your Spotify library with ease.

Target

Target's integration helps users shop more efficiently, especially during busy seasons like Black Friday. You can ask ChatGPT for gift suggestions, and it will curate a shopping basket you can add to your Target cart. You can then choose from same-day "Drive Up," in-store pickup, or standard shipping.

Uber

The Uber integration in ChatGPT helps users find ride options, making it easier to request a ride when travelling, especially in new locations. You can plan your trip in the ChatGPT app and complete the ride request in the Uber app. This feature is currently available in the U.S. and includes on-demand rides like UberX, UberXL, Comfort, and Black. For Uber Eats, U.S. users can browse local restaurants and menu items directly in ChatGPT.

The Zillow integration in ChatGPT simplifies home searches. You can specify criteria such as price range, number of bedrooms, or preferred neighbourhoods, and ChatGPT will provide relevant listings. This makes your home search more efficient and tailored to your needs.

What's Next?

Alongside the announcement of ChatGPT's app integrations, OpenAI shared plans to add additional partners, including OpenTable, PayPal, and Walmart, in 2026. However, the rollout of these app integrations is currently limited to users in the U.S. and Canada, with Europe and the U.K. excluded for now.
