Meta Hires Former Trump Advisor Dina Powell McCormick as President and Vice Chair
Meta has appointed former Trump advisor Dina Powell McCormick as president and vice chairman, adding a senior executive with deep government and finance experience to its leadership team.
Meta announced on Monday that it has appointed former Trump advisor Dina Powell McCormick as president and vice chairman of the company. Meta said Powell McCormick will join the company’s management team and help guide its overall strategy and execution.
“Dina’s experience at the highest levels of global finance, combined with her deep relationships around the world, makes her uniquely suited to help Meta manage this next phase of growth as the company’s President and Vice Chairman,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a blog post.
Powell McCormick previously served as deputy national security advisor to Donald Trump during his administration.
Trump reacted to the appointment in a post on Truth Social, writing: “Congratulations to DINA POWELL MCCORMICK, WHO HAS JUST BEEN NAMED THE NEW PRESIDENT OF META. A great choice by Mark Z!!! She is a fantastic, and very talented, person, who served the Trump Administration with strength and distinction.”
Before her role in the Trump administration, Powell McCormick served under Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during the George W. Bush administration. She also spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs, where she became a partner and held several senior leadership positions.
The appointment follows another recent high-profile hire by Meta. Last week, the company brought on Curtis Joseph Mahoney, a former Microsoft legal executive who also served as a deputy U.S. trade representative during Trump’s first term.
