Xiaomi unveils 17 Ultra smartphone alongside a tracker and ultra-thin power bank
Xiaomi introduces the 17 Ultra smartphone along with a Bluetooth tracker similar to AirTag and a slim power bank, expanding its ecosystem of mobile accessories.
Xiaomi on Monday introduced a wide range of new gadgets ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, rolling out a camera-centric flagship smartphone, a tracker designed to compete with Apple's AirTag, the Xiaomi Watch 5 smartwatch, and a very slim magnetic power bank.
The China-based electronics maker has teamed up with Leica to co-brand its new Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphone. As part of that collaboration, Xiaomi is using Leica-branded optics and offering image filters inspired by Leica's visual style.
The smartphone features a 50-megapixel main camera with an F/1.67 aperture and a 1-inch sensor. However, the standout feature is its 200-megapixel telephoto camera, which offers a variable focal length equivalent to 75-100 mm. In practical terms, this allows users to zoom in from roughly 3.2x to 4.3x. The handset also includes a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
Another important detail is battery capacity. The phone has a 6,000 mAh battery, while the version sold in China has a larger 6,800 mAh battery. Charging is supported through 90 W USB PD-PPS wired charging, and the device is also compatible with Xiaomi's 50 W Hypercharge wireless charging technology.
The device features a 6.9-inch Xiaomi HyperRGB OLED display, protected by the company's Shield Glass 3.0. Xiaomi has equipped the phone with Qualcomm's newest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, the same processor used in Samsung's recently introduced Galaxy S26 lineup.
Xiaomi is also launching a special Leica edition of the phone to mark 100 years of the camera brand. This version features a sturdy aluminium-alloy body finished with nickel anodization. On the software side, Xiaomi has also included a dedicated Leica theme to emphasize collaboration further.
That edition includes a rotating ring designed to imitate the zoom feel of a traditional physical camera. It also includes a "Leica Essential mode" with filters that reproduce the photographic style of the Leica M9 and Leica M3.
In addition, Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 17, featuring a larger 6,330 mAh battery and supporting 100 W charging via the company's HyperCharge technology.
The company is also releasing two photography-focused accessories for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The 17 Ultra Photography Kit is a Bluetooth-connected snap-on accessory that includes a two-stage shutter button and a separate video recording button. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra Photography Kit Pro is designed to more closely resemble a physical camera, with a leather-style finish, a video recording button, a detachable shutter button, and dedicated zoom control. This Pro kit attaches through USB-C and also includes a 2,000 mAh battery to power its operation. With the add-on attached, users can also access a new fastshot mode on the phone.
With this launch, Xiaomi is bringing these devices to markets across the European Union and the U.K. Pricing starts at €999 for the Xiaomi 17 and € 1,499 for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The Leica edition, which includes 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, is priced at €1,999. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra Photography Kit will sell for €99.99, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Photography Kit Pro will cost €199.99.
Beyond smartphones, Xiaomi also introduced several other new products, including a scooter. The company said its Electric Scooter 6 Ultra delivers 1200 W of peak power and offers a range of up to 75 kilometres. It features 12-inch all-terrain tyres, front and rear disc brakes, and a 3-inch TFT display that shows speed and remaining range. The scooter starts at €329.99 across five variants, with the most expensive at €799.99.
The company also introduced a new Xiaomi tag, a tracker similar to Apple's AirTag, that works with both Apple Find My and Google Android Find Hub. The tag weighs only 10 grams and uses a button cell battery that Xiaomi says can last for more than a year. Users can trigger a sound remotely to help locate the tag or check the time associated with the attached item. Xiaomi is pricing the tracker at €14.9 per unit and €49.99 for a four-pack.
In addition, the company launched a slim magnetic power bank measuring only 6 mm. The accessory weighs 98 grams and includes a 5,000 mAh battery. It can charge devices at up to 22.5 W via wired charging and at 15 W over wireless charging. Because the power bank is magnetic, it can attach to supported smartphones, including iPhones, and charge them wirelessly. Xiaomi is pricing the power bank at €59.99 in black and silver, and € 64.99 for the orange version.
Xiaomi also announced its new smartwatch, the Xiaomi Watch 5, featuring a 930 mAh battery that the company says can last up to 6 days. The watch features a round 1.54-inch AMOLED display and supports gesture controls for dismissing calls or alarms. It can also generate a health report in 60 seconds using readings such as heart rate, blood oxygen, stress levels, sleep duration, sleep heart rate, and sleep SpO₂. The smartwatch is priced at €299.99.
The company also unveiled the Redmi Buds 8 Pro earbuds, priced at €69.90, offering active noise cancellation and up to 33 hours of battery life.
