Anthropic is preparing for a potential IPO as early as 2026, according to a Financial Times report.

The company has hired law firm Wilson Sonsini to begin the process, and it is currently working through an internal checklist to prepare for what could be one of the largest IPOs to date.

Anthropic is also said to be exploring a new funding round that might push its valuation above $300 billion, and has been in discussions with several investment banks — though it has not yet selected an underwriter, the FT noted. The company most recently announced a $13 billion funding round in September, which valued it at $183 billion. Wilson Sonsini has been advising the company since 2022.

This development comes as OpenAI, valued at around $500 billion, is reportedly considering an IPO and has begun internal preparations, Reuters reported. However, no timeline for a listing has been provided.
