Google’s Gemini App Has Surpassed 750M Monthly Active Users
Google says its Gemini AI app has crossed 750 million monthly active users, highlighting rapid adoption and strong growth momentum.
Google’s AI chatbot Gemini has crossed 750 million monthly active users, according to the company’s fourth-quarter 2025 earnings report. The milestone highlights the rapid pace of consumer adoption for Gemini, which has quickly emerged as a major player in the artificial intelligence landscape.
In the previous quarter, Google reported 650 million monthly active users, signalling significant growth over a short period. By comparison, Meta AI has reported nearly 500 million monthly users. Despite its momentum, Gemini still trails its largest competitor, ChatGPT, which is estimated to have reached roughly 810 million monthly active users by late 2025.
The latest usage figures follow the rollout of Gemini 3, Google’s newest and most advanced model to date. The company says the update delivers responses with greater depth and nuance than previous versions.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai described the launch of Gemini 3 in AI mode as a “positive driver” of growth, adding that continued investment and ongoing iteration are expected to sustain the app’s momentum.
Google has also introduced a lower-priced subscription option, Google AI Plus, which costs $7.99 per month. While the plan is expected to help attract more cost-conscious users, it was launched too recently to have affected the latest quarterly results.
“We are focused on a free tier and subscriptions and seeing great growth,” said Philipp Schindler, Google’s chief business officer, during the company’s earnings call.
Gemini’s expansion comes amid strong overall financial performance for Alphabet, which reported surpassing $400 billion in annual revenue for the first time this quarter. Google credited much of that growth to increased demand for its AI offerings. As part of that push, the company recently unveiled its latest AI accelerator chip, Ironwood, designed tocompeteg with Nvidia’s hardware.
“The launch of Gemini 3 was a major milestone, and we have great momentum,” Pichai said in the earnings release. “Our first-party models, like Gemini, now process over 10 billion tokens per minute via direct API usage by customers, and the Gemini app has grown to more than 750 million monthly active users. Search also saw record usage, with AI continuing to drive expansion.”
