The Boring Company Plans Austin-San Antonio Hyperloop Concept, Elon Musk Says

Elon Musk says The Boring Company is working on a concept for a “simple precursor Hyperloop” that could connect Austin and San Antonio in less than 30 minutes. Musk shared the statement on X, describing it as a possible future infrastructure project.

The Boring Company responded through its official X account, saying it “would be excited and honoured to build this massive infrastructure project.” The proposal has not been confirmed for construction.

The Boring Company’s Track Record

The company has previously announced tunnel projects in Chicago, Los Angeles, and between New York City and Washington, D.C. However,h several have not moved forward, according to The Wall Street Journal. It currently operates a tunnel-based transportation system in Las Vegas.

Musk’s comments followed his response to an AI-generated video depicting a futuristic vision with human colonies on other worlds. He later reposted the video on X and wrote, “This is the future we shall bring into being.”

The Austin-San Antonio Hyperloop remains a concept based on Musk’s comments and has not been announced as an active construction project.
