ChatGPT is rolling out its own version of Spotify Wrapped. The OpenAI–owned chatbot has introduced a new annual recap feature, “Your Year with ChatGPT,” now available to eligible users in select markets, including the United States.

Other English-speaking countries with access to the feature include Canada, the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand.

At launch, “Your Year with ChatGPT” is available to users on the free, Plus, and Pro plans who have both the “reference saved memories” and “reference chat history” settings enabled. Whoo have met a minimum conversation activity threshold, OpenAI told TechCrunch via email.

The feature is not available to Team, Enterprise, or Education accounts. OpenAI said the experience is designed to be “lightweight, privacy-forward, and user-controlled.”

Much like other year-end summaries from consumer apps, “Your Year with ChatGPT” draws inspiration from Spotify Wrapped. The experience uses playful visuals and personalised insights, presenting users with “awards” based on their interactions with ChatGPT over the year.

For example, users who frequently worked through ideas or problem-solving sessions with the chatbot might receive an award such as “Creative Debugger.”

The recap also generates a personalised poem and an image that reflect the user’s interests and the topics discussed throughout the year. OpenAI notes that the feature is intended to be fun and reflective, offering a snapshot of how individuals have used ChatGPT.

While the year-end review will be promoted on the ChatGPT home screen, it will not automatically open or be forced on users.

The feature is accessible through the ChatGPT web app and the iOS and Android mobile apps. Users can also manually trigger the experience by asking ChatGPT directly for “Your Year with ChatGPT.”
