Wearables startup CUDIS is rolling out its newest generation of health rings this week. The updated smart ring includes several new capabilities, including an AI “agent coach” to help users stay consistent as they work toward fitness and wellness goals.

CUDIS says its approach differs from other wearable devices because it isn’t limited to presenting health metrics. Instead, the company aims to encourage healthier habits through a rewards structure. Users earn digital “health points” for completing activities considered beneficial — such as meeting daily sleep targets, hitting 10,000 steps, participating in sports or exercise, and even interacting with the ring’s AI coach. Those points can then be redeemed through an integrated marketplace for discounts on health supplements and other products.

The ring’s AI Agent Coach uses generative AI to help users follow structured exercise and daily health programs. CUDIS says the agent produces personalised guidance that can include “daily tasks, recovery protocols, supplement recommendations, and direct referrals to licensed medical professionals.”

Alongside the coaching system, the ring tracks a wide range of metrics and behaviours, including sleep quality, stress management, movement, and recovery. CUDIS says these measurements help users understand how day-to-day habits influence their Pace of Ageing (PoA). This metric indicates whether their body is ageing faster or slower than their chronological age.

CUDIS CEO and co-founder Edison Chen said that since the company launched its first wearable in 2024, it has sold more than 30,000 devices across its first two ring models. He added that the companion app now has around 250,000 users spanning 103 countries.

“Our strongest markets so far have been North America, Europe, and Asia,” Chen said. “What we’re good at is pattern recognition for healthy people trying to optimise,” he added.

Chen said the AI is designed to identify when a user’s metrics are trending in an unhealthy direction, such as chronic poor sleep, falling HRV, or rising resting heart rate, and then recommend lifestyle adjustments or route the user toward professional help when appropriate.

“The AI spots when you’re trending in the wrong direction, such as chronic poor sleep, declining HRV, elevated resting heart rate, and either suggests lifestyle changes or connects you to a professional. The control is in the escalation pathway to the right care access,” he said.

CUDIS says it keeps user data encrypted and protected using the Solana blockchain, and the company has previously been described as a “web3 AI wellness company.”

CUDIS announced a $5 million seed round in 2024. The financing was led by Draper Associates and included additional investors, including several blockchain-focused groups such as Skybridge, DraperDragon, Monke Ventures, and Foresight Ventures. The company also says it plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign soon.
