Circleback Launches Free Meeting Note-Taker Plan With Unlimited Meetings
Circleback launches a free meeting note-taker plan with unlimited meetings and 30 days of history as competition in AI meeting note-taking tools grows.
Circleback has introduced a free subscription tier for its AI-powered meeting note-taking platform as competition in the meeting transcription market intensifies. The new plan gives users access to core features while allowing the company to reach more potential customers.
The free tier allows users to transcribe an unlimited number of meetings, although access to previous meeting history is limited to the most recent 30 days. Users can also record meetings, use the company’s mobile and Apple Watch apps, search transcripts with AI, and connect the service with tools including Linear and Slack.
Circleback Expands Access to AI Meeting Notes
Previously, Circleback did not offer a free plan, with subscriptions starting at $20.83 per month. Under the new pricing structure, paid plans start at $14 per month when billed annually and include additional features such as broader integrations, unlimited meeting history, and full access to the API and Model Context Protocol.
The move comes as the AI meeting assistant market becomes increasingly competitive. Companies including Granola, Read AI, and Fireflies have built dedicated meeting note-taking products, while other productivity platforms have recently introduced similar tools.
Circleback was founded in 2023 by Ali Haghani and Kevin Jacyna. The company raised $2.5 million in 2024 and says it has been profitable since then. Circleback also says its eight-person team has reached more than $1 million in annualised revenue per employee, representing a run-rate of roughly $8 million.
Free Tier Becomes Circleback’s Growth Strategy
CEO Ali Haghani said the company introduced the free plan after seeing users leave when access was limited to a short trial period. The startup believes giving more people access to the product will help increase adoption and create more opportunities to convert users into paying customers.
“If we just open the gates and allow more people to use the product, that’s gonna bring Circleback in front of more people,” Haghani said.
Circleback said it does not spend money on Google Ads or Meta Ads, and the free tier will effectively act as a marketing investment by allowing more users to discover and test the platform.
Despite investor interest, Haghani said the company is not currently planning to raise additional funding. He said Circleback does not see fundraising as necessary at its current stage and would consider it if capital could help solve specific growth challenges.
