Google AI Mode Adds Flight Tracking and Hotel Booking Features

Google is expanding AI Mode, its conversational search experience, with new travel features that let users track flight prices, find hotels, and plan parts of their trips directly in a conversation.

The updates take AI Mode beyond traditional search results, allowing users to complete more travel-related tasks without switching between multiple services. Google is positioning the tool as an AI-powered travel assistant that can help with planning and booking decisions.

Google AI Mode adds flight price tracking

Users can now tell AI Mode where and when they want to travel, and the tool will show flight options with updated prices from more than 300 airlines and travel websites.

If users are not ready to book immediately, they can ask AI Mode to monitor prices for a specific route and travel date. Google said users will receive email notifications when prices change. Flight price tracking in AI Mode is available in more than 180 countries. Travellers can also build an itinerary inside AI Mode after finding suitable flights, keeping trip planning within the conversational search experience.

AI Mode expands into hotel booking

Google is also adding hotel discovery and booking features in AI Mode. Users can describe their destination, travel dates, and preferences to receive hotel recommendations along with reviews and key details.

After choosing a hotel, users can ask AI Mode to help complete the booking process. They can then continue with Google’s integrated travel partners, including Booking.com, Hotels.com, and Trip.com.

The final booking process takes place through the hotel chain or travel platform. Users can select rooms, review information such as cancellation policies, and complete payments using Google Pay, while customer service remains handled by the booking provider.

Hotel booking through AI Mode is initially rolling out in the U.S. in English, with support from multiple travel companies and hotel groups.

Google adds points-and-miles travel searches

AI Mode can now also show flight and hotel costs using loyalty points or miles. Users can ask for travel options using rewards programs, such as finding flights that can be booked with airline miles.

The feature displays how many points or miles are required for available options. Google said this update is now available globally.

The latest additions show Google expanding AI Mode from an information search tool into a system that can assist with more practical travel tasks, including price monitoring, recommendations, and booking workflows.
