Life360 Launches $8 Pet Tags and New Tracking Features for Animals

Life360 is expanding its pet safety platform with new scannable pet tags, care management tools, and updated GPS tracking features designed to help families keep track of their animals.

The company launched $7.99 QR-enabled pet tags that allow someone who finds a lost pet to contact the owner and notify the family via the Life360 app.

Life360 adds simpler pet tracking options

Life360 entered pet technology last year with GPS pet trackers that use location technology connected to the company’s platform following its acquisition of Tile, a company known for item-tracking devices.

Since then, Life360 says families have added more than 8 million pets to their accounts. The company found that some owners wanted a simpler option than GPS trackers, especially those who only needed contact information attached to their pet’s collar.

The new scannable tags provide a middle option by offering contact details without requiring a larger tracking device. When scanned, the tag can notify the pet owner’s family through Life360, even if the person who finds the pet does not use the app.

New pet care tools add family coordination features

Life360 said the location information from a tag scan can help families identify where a pet was found and track the last known location if the animal escapes again.

The company is also adding pet care features that allow families to create shared care logs. Users can record tasks such as feeding, walking, medication, and litter cleaning so everyone involved can see the pet’s routine.

Life360 expands GPS pet tracker features

For users with GPS trackers, Life360 is introducing “Zoomies Alerts,” which track periods when pets have bursts of activity during the day or evening. A new Weekly Roundup features summaries of routines such as walking distance and family care contributions.

The company is also making its GPS pet trackers available through lower-priced subscription options. Previously limited to higher-tier plans, the trackers are now included with Silver bundles priced at $99 per year.

The new pet tags and GPS trackers are available through Life360’s website and Amazon in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
