Picsart introduces monetisation tools for creators to earn from designs
Picsart now enables creators to earn money from their designs through new monetisation tools, opening fresh income opportunities for digital artists.
Picsart has introduced a new monetisation initiative to help creators earn income directly from their creative work. The company said the program is open to everyone, with no invite-only restrictions and no minimum follower count required to participate.
The initiative allows creators to produce original content using Picsart’s tools as part of specific campaigns, share that content across their own social media channels, and earn revenue based on how audiences interact with their posts. According to the company, the program is designed to prioritise creativity and performance rather than relying on a creator’s audience size.
With this move, Picsart is expanding beyond its role as a design platform into a space where creators can actively monetise their output. The company appears to be positioning the program as both a way to attract new users and retain its existing creator base.
After enrolling, participants gain access to a dedicated dashboard that lists active campaigns, prompts, and creative challenges. These campaigns guide users on what kind of content to create. For instance, one challenge might encourage creators to design playful or imaginative characters using Picsart Aura, the platform’s AI-powered assistant that can generate and animate visuals through text or voice prompts.
Picsart has emphasised that simply producing AI-generated images without thoughtful creative input is unlikely to drive meaningful engagement or earnings, underscoring the importance of originality and effort in the process.
Once a creator completes a piece of content, they submit it by filling out a form that includes the live URL of the post, campaign-specific tags, and a short explanation of how the content was created using Picsart tools. The content itself is published on the creator’s own accounts across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X.
Earnings are determined based on engagement metrics, including views, comments, shares, and overall reach. Creators can monitor their performance and income through the dashboard and withdraw their earnings using Stripe.
Founder and CEO Hovhannes Avoyan said the program reflects the company’s broader philosophy around accessibility and fairness in the creator economy.
“We’ve always believed that creativity should be for everyone — and now, so should the rewards,” Avoyan said. He added that many platforms have historically failed to compensate everyday creators properly and described the new program as an open and transparent system in which creators are rewarded based on how their content performs.
The company noted that the monetisation opportunity is not limited to a specific type of creator. Users producing tutorials, aesthetic edits, or short-form video content can all participate and potentially earn through the program.
Founded in 2011, Picsart has grown to serve more than 130 million users worldwide and reached unicorn status during the creator economy surge in 2021.
The launch of this monetisation program follows another recent expansion by the company. Just weeks earlier, Picsart announced plans for an AI agent marketplace, where users will be able to “hire” AI tools to perform tasks such as resizing content, remixing social media posts, or editing product images for platforms like Shopify. Together, these developments signal Picsart’s broader strategy to build a more comprehensive ecosystem that supports both creativity and income generation for its global user base.
