Cameo teams up with TikTok to expand reach and creator engagement
Cameo partners with TikTok to boost creator visibility and fan engagement, aiming to expand its reach through short-form video integration.
Celebrity video platform Cameo is introducing a new integration with TikTok as part of its efforts to regain momentum and reconnect with a broader creator audience. The new feature allows U.S.-based creators to offer personalised Cameo videos directly through TikTok, giving fans a more seamless way to request custom messages.
The integration is designed to simplify the process for both creators and fans. Creators can now sign up within TikTok to provide personalised video messages, enabling followers to access these services directly alongside the content they already engage with. For creators already active on Cameo, the feature offers an opportunity to expand their reach and connect with a wider audience through TikTok's massive user base.
This move allows Cameo to tap into one of the fastest-growing creator ecosystems. TikTok creators represent a significant and rapidly expanding segment of online talent. Several popular personalities from the platform — including Ash Trevino, Alex Dougherty, and Smooth Papi — are currently among the top performers on Cameo's leaderboard.
Cameo CEO Steven Galanis highlighted the growing overlap between the two platforms, noting that Cameo's personalised videos frequently gain traction on TikTok and that TikTok creators delivered the strongest performance on Cameo in 2025.
Cameo experienced significant success during the COVID-19 pandemic, reaching a $1 billion valuation as demand for personalised celebrity interactions surged. However, the company faced a sharp decline in 2024, with its valuation dropping by more than 90%. It has also encountered financial challenges, including a $600,000 fine issued by the Federal Trade Commission. In an effort to revive interest, Cameo introduced a birthday planning app called Candl last year.
The new partnership reflects a broader trend across the digital media landscape, where companies are increasingly collaborating with influencers and content creators to strengthen their platforms. Streaming services such as Tubi and Peacock have also entered into partnerships with creators to develop original content.
TikTok already offers multiple tools that enable direct interaction between creators and their audiences, including tipping, virtual gifts, subscriptions, and a recently introduced bulletin board that lets creators share public updates with followers.
