Reelful AI Automatically Creates Social Media Videos From Your Camera Roll
Reelful uses AI to transform photos and video clips from your camera roll into polished short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other social platforms, reducing editing time for creators and businesses.
A new iOS application called Reelful is using artificial intelligence to automatically convert photos and video clips stored in a user’s camera roll into polished short-form videos designed for platforms such as TikTok and Instagram Reels. The app targets users who want to create engaging social media content but find conventional video editing software too complicated or time-consuming.
The launch reflects a broader trend in AI-powered content creation, in which intelligent agents are increasingly replacing traditional editing tools, automating much of the creative process. Reelful joins a growing group of startups, including Opus Clip and Captions, that are reshaping how social media videos are produced.
Currently participating in Andreessen Horowitz’s Speedrun accelerator program, Reelful was founded by Kate Deyneka, a former Snapchat machine learning engineer who helped develop the company’s video and image AI models.
After leaving Snapchat, Deyneka focused on creating an AI-powered video editor that eliminates many of the manual tasks involved in producing short-form content, such as selecting clips, recording voiceovers, adding visual effects, and refining edits.
“I want to post more on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, but video editing takes a lot of time, so much time that I do not even want to spend it because I have a lot of things going on in my life, especially now as an early-stage founder,” Deyneka said in an interview. “I have a lot of events; I meet a lot of interesting people, and this is what I see for all my founder friends: they have a very active life, especially right now when AI is booming, but we do not have time to edit. I see Reelful as a tool that can help people build their online presence and their personal brand.”
The app works by asking users to describe the story they want to tell with a simple prompt, whether it’s a travel recap, product demonstration, or event highlight. Users then create a voice clone by recording a 30-second audio sample before selecting photos and videos from their camera roll. Reelful automatically plans the sequence, writes a script, generates an AI-powered voiceover, and produces the finished video complete with captions, background music, and sound effects.
The platform can also transform still images into AI-generated video sequences. For instance, a photo of someone cutting a mango can be animated into a short clip that depicts the slicing action. These AI-generated segments include a watermark indicating they were created using artificial intelligence.
Once the initial video has been generated, users can continue refining it by chatting with the AI to adjust the soundtrack, rewrite the narration, or modify other elements of the final edit.
According to Deyneka, Reelful is initially aimed at founders, entrepreneurs, and business owners who regularly need fresh content to strengthen their personal or company brands. She pointed to businesses such as local salons that often have plenty of customer photos and videos but lack the time or resources to edit them into professional-looking social media content.
“My target use case is that you went to an event or you met some cool people, and you recorded a short interview with them, and while you are driving back home, you just uploaded everything to the app, and by the time you’re home, the video is ready,” Deyneka explained. “So I want to make it very effortless for people to share their life, their content, their expertise without actively editing or setting up things on their laptop.”
Reelful offers both subscription plans and one-time credit purchases. Users can purchase bundles of five videos for $15, 15 videos for $43, or 33 videos for $90. The Creator subscription costs $25 per month and includes 10 videos, while the Pro plan costs $50 per month and includes 25 videos. A Studio subscription is also available for $100 per month and includes up to 60 videos.
Although Reelful is currently available only on iOS devices, Deyneka said the company plans to release Android and web versions of the platform.
