General Intuition Eyes $6B Valuation as Investors Back Robotics Push
General Intuition is in talks to raise funding at a $6 billion pre-money valuation as it pushes its foundation-model technology further into robotics.
General Intuition is in talks to raise new funding at a $6 billion pre-money valuation as the New York AI startup increases its focus on robotics and other physical-world applications.
New investors, including Valour Equity Partners, Point72 Ventures, and Seven Seven Six, are expected to participate, according to people familiar with the discussions. Existing backers Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst are also involved. The round has not yet been finalised, and its size has not been disclosed.
General Intuition pushes deeper into robotics
The potential financing comes only weeks after General Intuition raised $320 million at a $2.3 billion valuation. The company says it is developing models that can perceive, predict and act across virtual and physical environments, with commercial partners already spanning games, simulation and robotics.
CEO Pim de Witte created General Intuition from Medal, his video game clip-sharing platform. Its initial training data includes large volumes of gameplay paired with “action labels,” records showing which controls players used and when.
That approach is intended to teach AI systems more than language or image recognition. By learning relationships among observations, actions, and outcomes, General Intuition aims to build agents that can transfer spatial and temporal reasoning across different environments.
The strategy is part of a broader industry push toward world and action models for robotics. These systems are trained to predict how environments change after an action, potentially allowing robots and autonomous agents to plan and operate in the physical world.
General Intuition plans to use additional capital to improve its general-purpose models for robotic embodiments, expand computing infrastructure and recruit more researchers and engineers. The company also has a computing partnership with CoreWeave.
If completed at the reported terms, the new financing would more than double General Intuition’s valuation within weeks, reflecting strong investor interest in AI systems designed to move beyond software and operate in physical environments.
