Many concertgoers capture moments on their phones, only to rarely revisit those recordings later. Gigs, a newly launched iOS app, aims to change that by helping music fans organise their concert experiences into a structured, long-term archive. The app uses Apple's on-device artificial intelligence to transform scattered tickets, photos, and videos into a cohesive record of live music history.

Users can add concerts to the app in multiple ways, including importing tickets, emails, screenshots, or even website links. Gigs then uses Apple's Foundation Models to extract key details such as event dates, venues, and artist lineups, automatically populating them in a clean, organised format.

For users who already track their concert activity on other platforms, Gigs provides integration options. It can import historical data by connecting accounts from services like Setlist.fm or Concert Archives, allowing users to bring years of past events into a single app.

Once events are added, Gigs offers a range of features to enhance the experience. Users can sync concerts with their personal calendars, receive reminders about upcoming ticket sales, browse expected setlists, and access additional details about performers or venues. After attending a show, the app prompts users to rate the experience and upload photos, videos, or artwork, helping to preserve those memories in a more meaningful way.

The app was created by independent developer Hidde van der Ploeg, known for projects such as Petey, an AI-powered playlist tool for Apple Music, the music discovery app NowPlaying, and Helm for App Store Connect. He developed Gigs alongside co-creator Pol Piella to help live music enthusiasts better track and revisit their concert journeys.

By organising all concert-related content in one place, Gigs allows users to explore their listening history in new ways. The app includes a statistics dashboard that highlights insights such as the most-seen artists, favourite venues, most-visited cities, busiest concert years, and average show ratings. It also introduces milestones to mark progress, such as attending a set number of concerts over time.

Designed for iOS 26, Gigs features a modern "Liquid Glass" interface and includes home screen widgets that count down to upcoming events. Integration with Siri enables users to check schedules, access tickets, or rate shows using voice commands. Additionally, concerts are indexed in Apple's Spotlight, making them searchable across the device, and users can customise the app's icon styles.

The app is available as a free download, with optional premium features offered through a subscription model. For $2.99 per month, users can unlock advanced capabilities such as data export, expanded insights, achievement tracking, unlimited storage for photos and videos, and the ability to import concert history from external services or CSV files. An annual subscription costs $19.99, and there is also an option to bundle Gigs with the NowPlaying app at a discounted rate.
