Google announced on Thursday that it is expanding its AI-powered conversational search feature, Search Live, to a global audience. The feature will now be available across all languages and regions where AI Mode is supported, bringing access to users in more than 200 countries and territories.

Originally introduced in July 2025, Search Live enables users to point their smartphone camera at objects and receive real-time assistance. The feature supports interactive, back-and-forth conversations that use visual context from the camera feed to provide more relevant responses. Before this global rollout, Search Live had only been available in the United States and India.

The wider release is powered by Google’s latest audio and voice model, Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, which the company says delivers more natural and intuitive conversational experiences.

To use Search Live, users can open the Google app on Android or iOS devices and tap the Live icon located beneath the search bar. From there, they can ask questions aloud and receive spoken responses, continuing the interaction with follow-up queries. Users can also explore related web links for additional information.

“Search Live is designed for those moments when you need real-time help, and typing out a query just won’t cut it,” Google explained in a blog post. “If you want to ask about something in front of you, like how to install a new shelving unit, you can enable your camera to add visual context. This way, Search can see what your camera sees and offer helpful suggestions, plus links to more information on the web.”

The company added that the feature can also be accessed through Google Lens. When users are already using the camera through Google Lens, they can tap the “Live” option at the bottom of the screen to activate the feature.

In addition to the Search Live expansion, Google announced that its “Live Translate” feature in Google Translate is now available on iOS devices. This feature allows users to hear real-time translations directly through their headphones.

The rollout of Live Translate is also expanding geographically, with availability increasing in countries such as Germany, Spain, France, Nigeria, Italy, the United Kingdom, Japan, Bangladesh, and Thailand.

Google stated that with this expansion, users on both Android and iOS platforms will be able to access real-time translation capabilities using any compatible pair of headphones, supporting more than 70 languages.
