The 83rd Golden Globes proved to be a standout evening for streaming platforms. Netflix led the night with seven wins, while Apple TV and HBO Max each earned three awards. Hulu took home one win.

Among Netflix’s biggest successes, the hit series Adolescence claimed four awards, including best limited series. The show also won best actor in a miniseries for Stephen Graham, best supporting actor for Owen Cooper, and best supporting actress for Erin Doherty.

Netflix’s most-watched title, KPop Demon Hunters, won best animated feature and best original song.

Netflix’s strong showing at the Golden Globes comes as the company prepares for one of its most significant moves in Hollywood: the acquisition of Warner Bros.

Other streaming platforms also had notable moments. Apple TV earned two awards for The Studio, winning best television series (musical or comedy) and best actor in a television series for Seth Rogen. Rhea Seehorn won best lead actress in a television drama for her performance in Pluribus.

HBO found success with its medical drama The Pitt, which picked up two Golden Globes, including one for actor Noah Wylie. HBO’s third award went to Jean Smart for best female actor in a television series – musical or comedy for Hacks.

Hulu’s sole win came from Michelle Williams, who earned best lead actress for Dying for Sex. Other nominated titles, including Only Murders in the Building, The Bear, Paradise, and Chad Powers, did not convert their nominations into wins.

Meanwhile, Disney+ received 15 nominations, including nods for Andor and Elio, but did not secure any wins this year.

The Golden Globes also introduced a new best podcast category. Amy Poehler won the inaugural Aood Hang Award. Other nominees included Call Her Daddy by Alex Cooper and Armchair Expert hosted by Dax Shepard.
