Fashion startup Atorie has raised $9.5 million in seed funding as it builds a new model for affordable luxury fashion by connecting consumers directly with manufacturers that produce goods for high-end brands.

The company says shoppers can buy handbags and clothing made with the same materials and produced in the same factories used by luxury manufacturers, but at significantly lower prices. Atorie’s approach focuses on reducing traditional luxury markups while maintaining quality and craftsmanship.

The funding round includes investment from a16z speedrun, Night Capital, and Jeremy Liew of Lightspeed Ventures. Atorie plans to use the capital to expand its logistics operations, develop more AI tools, and increase production capabilities.

Atorie targets changing luxury shopping habits

The startup is entering the market as consumers, particularly younger shoppers, increasingly look for alternatives to traditional luxury brands. Rising prices across the luxury sector have contributed to growing interest in lower-cost products that offer similar styles and materials.

Industry discussions about luxury pricing have increased as consumers question whether higher prices still reflect product value. Vogue has examined the debate around pricing strategies and changing expectations in the luxury market.

Atorie co-founder Redouane Ramdani said the company’s products are not intended to be simple copies or fast fashion alternatives. Instead, he said the company works with manufacturers using the same materials and craftsmanship associated with premium goods.

Ramdani previously founded creator platform Snipfeed, which was acquired in 2024 through a deal announced by Planoly. His background in luxury manufacturing influenced Atorie’s approach, as his family worked in the industry while he was growing up in France.

AI helps Atorie connect factories and shoppers

Ramdani said luxury manufacturing has changed as factories increasingly develop their own product designs and production capabilities rather than only producing items based on brand-provided specifications.

According to Atorie, factories can now produce in smaller batches and use AI tools to analyse trends, forecast demand, and reduce the risk of overproduction.

The company uses AI to analyse fashion trends, evaluate product ideas, forecast material demand, and help factories plan inventory. On the consumer side, Atorie offers an AI shopping assistant that recommends outfits based on customer preferences and inspiration.

Atorie expands AI-powered fashion commerce.

The company believes AI agents will eventually change how consumers discover and purchase products by allowing shoppers to delegate more buying decisions to automated assistants.

Atorie said it has seen an increase in referrals from AI platforms including ChatGPT and Claude. The company aims to become an alternative to mainstream fashion retailers by offering premium products at more accessible prices.

Atorie reported around $5 million in sales last year and expects to reach an annualised revenue run rate above $55 million this year. The company said it currently works with more than 40 factories worldwide.

The startup also plans to launch its own product lines and help creators and influencers develop their own fashion brands. Ramdani’s previous experience with creator businesses through Snipfeed, which Planoly acquired, helped shape that expansion strategy.

With its new funding, Atorie is betting that a combination of direct manufacturing relationships and AI-powered shopping tools can reshape how consumers buy premium fashion products.
