Cybersecurity startup Comp AI has raised $34 million in a Series A round to develop an AI-powered platform that automates security and compliance tasks for companies.

The round was led by Roo Capital and Grand Ventures, bringing Comp AI’s total funding to $37.5 million. Lewis Carhart, Claudio Fuentes, and Mariano Fuentes founded the company in 2026 after their previous startup experience highlighted the challenges of managing security compliance processes.

Building AI agents for compliance work

Comp AI is developing an agentic platform that helps companies handle repetitive security and compliance tasks, including drafting policies, collecting audit evidence, and continuously monitoring whether organisations meet required controls.

The founders said the idea came from their experience with SOC 2 compliance while building their previous company, where they found the process required significant manual work and diverted attention away from product development.

Comp AI’s platform is designed to assist human teams rather than replace them. The company said AI agents can prepare documents and perform tasks, while employees review and approve important actions.

Expanding security automation for AI systems

The startup also offers AI-powered penetration testing tools that can help identify vulnerabilities in codebases and infrastructure. The new funding will help expand the product as companies adopt more AI systems.

Comp AI believes the growing use of AI agents is creating demand for more continuous security monitoring. The company focuses on helping businesses track what AI systems access, what actions they take, and whether they stay within approved limits.

The company joins a growing group of cybersecurity startups building tools for AI-driven environments, where traditional security reviews may not provide continuous visibility into changing systems.
