Business insurance startup Corgi announced on Wednesday that it has raised a $160 million Series B funding round led by TCV, pushing the company’s valuation to $1.3 billion, according to co-founder Nico Laqua.

The funding round comes just four months after the startup revealed its $108 million Series A financing, underscoring the rapid pace of investor interest in the company. With the latest investment, Corgi has now secured a total of $268 million in funding since launching, Laqua said in a LinkedIn post.

The new valuation also makes Corgi one of the latest unicorn startups to emerge from Y Combinator.

Corgi was founded in 2024 by Nico Laqua and Emily Yuan and participated in Y Combinator’s Spring 2024 batch. The company focuses on business insurance products, offering coverage options such as general liability, cyber liability, and technology and AI liability protection.

The startup counts companies such as Deel and Artisan among its customers. In addition to TCV, the Series B round included participation from existing and new investors, including Kindred Ventures, Leblon Capital, and First Order Fund.

“We’re excited about the raise and incredibly grateful to our investors for believing in what we’re building. But the job is not done,” Laqua told. “Our mission is bigger: we want to use the fresh capital to expand into more lines of insurance and build a generational company.”

The rapid fundraising momentum reflects growing investor interest in startups building modern insurance products for technology-focused businesses, particularly as companies increasingly seek protection against cybersecurity risks and AI-related liabilities.
