Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold Launches in the U.S. at $2,899
Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Z TriFold in the U.S. with a $2,899 price tag, making it the most expensive smartphone on the market and the company’s largest foldable device to date.
Samsung has officially confirmed pricing and availability details for its first tri-fold smartphone in the U.S. market. The company announced Tuesday that the Galaxy Z TriFold will launch on January 30 with a retail price of $2,899.
The device features a display that folds twice, opening into a 10-inch screen — the largest ever offered on a Galaxy phone. At its thinnest point, the handset measures just 3.9 millimetres and is designed to endure up to 200,000 folds over its lifespan. In the U.S., the Galaxy Z TriFold will be sold exclusively in black and will ship with 512GB of internal storage.
At $2,899, the Galaxy Z TriFold is the most expensive smartphone currently available in the United States. It surpasses even the highest-end iPhone 17 Pro Max configuration with 2TB of storage, as well as Samsung’s own Galaxy Z Fold, which is priced around $2,000.
Samsung said the Galaxy Z TriFold will be sold nationwide through Samsung Experience Stores and directly via Samsung.com. The device will not be offered through U.S. mobile carriers.
The launch marks the first time a tri-fold smartphone has been officially made available in the U.S. While Huawei introduced its Mate XT trifold phone previously, that device is not sold in the American market. Apple, meanwhile, is widely rumoured to be preparing its first foldable iPhone, which could debut later this year.
