Snapchat launches creator subscriptions in the US
Snapchat launches creator subscriptions in the US, allowing influencers to offer exclusive content, Stories, and perks to paying subscribers.
Snapchat announced today that it’s rolling out creator subscriptions in an alpha test with a select group of creators in the U.S., beginning February 23. The company said users will be able to purchase subscriptions to creators such as Jeremiah Brown, Harry Jowsey, and Skai Jackson. The move lets fans unlock exclusive content while giving creators a new way tomonetisee their audiences.
Creators can set their own monthly subscription pricing in the app, while Snap will suggest pricing tiers to guide them. A subscription will unlock subscriber-only content, priority replies to a creator’s public Stories, and ad-free viewing of that creator’s Stories.
Snap said this provides creators with another revenue stream in addition to its existing monetisation programs.
“Expanding on existing monetisation offerings like the Unified Monetisation Program and the Snap Star Collab Studio, Creator Subscriptions introduce a premium layer of connection directly into how Snapchatters already engage with creators across Stories, Chat, and replies,” the company said in a blog post.
Snapchat reported 946 million monthly active users in its Q4 2025 results. During its earnings update, the company also reported that the number of U.S.-based users posting to Spotlight increased by more than 47% year over year. Snap also spun out its hardware efforts into a new entity, Specs, last month.
The company added that it plans to broaden the subscriptions program to Snap Stars in Canada, the U.K., and France in the coming weeks.
Competitor Meta already offers creator subscriptions across platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, granting subscribers access to perks such as exclusive content and badges.
