Tesla Reports Strong Second-Quarter Sales as Vehicle Deliveries Surge
Tesla reported a sharp rise in second-quarter vehicle deliveries, exceeding market expectations with more than 480,000 EVs delivered worldwide. Here’s what drove the strong Q2 sales growth.
Tesla delivered more than 480,000 vehicles during the second quarter of the year, an increase of over 120,000 units from the first quarter. The performance suggests the automaker continues to attract new customers for its electric vehicles despite a broader slowdown in the U.S. EV market.
On Thursday, Tesla reported that it produced 451,758 vehicles during the quarter. Of those, 442,936 were Model 3 sedans and Model Y SUVs The company delivered a total of 467,762 vehicles. At the same time, the remaining 12,364 deliveries came from its “other models” category, which includes the Cybertruck as well as the final production versions of the Model S sedan and Model X SUV. The results marked Tesla’s strongest second quarter ever in terms of total vehicle deliveries and comfortably exceeded Wall Street’s expectations.
It was also Tesla’s best overall sales performance since the third quarter of 2025, when the company delivered just under 500,000 vehicles worldwide. Although Tesla still faces the challenge of reversing a two-year decline in overall annual sales, the latest quarterly figures indicate that the company is finding ways to counter that trend through expansion into additional markets and the introduction of more affordable versions of the Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck.
