Uber is acquiring Berlin-based Blacklane, a company known for its on-demand black-car and chauffeur-driven services, as the ride-hailing giant pushes further into the luxury and executive travel segment.

The deal marks a significant milestone for Blacklane, which was founded in 2011 and has raised over $100 million in funding from investors including Sixt, Mercedes-Benz, and ALFAHIM.

Uber said the acquisition is still subject to regulatory approvals but expects the transaction to close by the end of the year. Neither company disclosed financial details of the deal.

The move comes shortly after Uber introduced its new premium offering, Uber Elite, which blends chauffeur-style transportation with high-end features such as in-car amenities, airport meet-and-greet services, and round-the-clock phone support. The service is currently being rolled out in Los Angeles and San Francisco, with plans to expand to New York City.

Meanwhile, Blacklane already operates across major cities in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, South America, and North America. The acquisition is expected to strengthen Uber’s presence in the global luxury mobility market, combining its large-scale platform with Blacklane’s premium service expertise.
